Departure Lounge is widely recognised for its innovative exhibition and publishing work particularly with photographic artists. Curator/Director Matthew Shaul has a special interest in photographic art from the former East Germany and is a PhD candidate at Queen Mary University of London.
Departure Lounge’s programme between 2010-22 was delivered in partnership with Culture Trust Luton, and Luton Council’s Economic Development Team. During this time we were generously supported by Arts Council England and other supporters including the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the German Embassy, London.
Partnership, Consultancy and Mentorship
Departure Lounge has wide experience of bringing unused and underused commercial premises back into use for cultural events and exhibitions. We are widely experienced fundraisers having raised ca £1.2 M from national and international funding agencies since the early 2000s. We offer consultancy on career development and fundraising to emerging and established artists and cultural production agencies.
